ODE À IDENTIDADE: O DESIGN DE SUPERFÍCIE COMO INTERFACE ENTRE INDIVÍDUO-LEITOR E SÍMBOLOS / ODE TO IDENTITY: SURFACE DESIGN AS AN INTERFACE BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL AND SYMBOLS

Abstract

The work aims to conceive a collection of textile surfaces employing the methods of semiotics, based on the transposition of the emblematic components of the Official Anthem of the Municipality of Araranguá-SC as a form of iconography. The concepts addressed in this project correspond to the study established by Peirce, investigating the interpretation, tools and context to support an analysis of meanings. It is a bibliographic and exploratory research with a project approach, resulting in a collection of textile surfaces capable of communicating the poetry of the municipality. Furthermore, it contributes to the promotion and valorization of the territory and of the local identity, since the aforementioned city has faced great patrimonial losses of a legacy that was built by several generations. Thus, virtual simulations were performed so that the resulting surfaces could be inserted into the city context in the future, promoting such exchanges and interactions with its population and also stimulating the redirection of the internal and external perspective on the city.

Keywords: design; surface design; textile surface; semiotics; identity; Araranguá.
