Abstract

This article describes the use of the Design Thinking (DT) method with its innovation and creativity techniques, such as the possibility of stimulation and the learning performance in the creative process of surface design (DS). To this end, it is based on the use of instructional design and active methodologies for a student who has greater learning autonomy through experience, initiative and originality. The study was carried out with students of the Design course at Ritter dos Reis University Center of Porto Alegre, in the discipline of surface design. The selected results suggest that the use of Design Thinking was effective in creating patterns. For this, we used a (LMS) Learning Management System Projeto em Ação, which served as a support for the teacher to insert the content in tutorial format, with explanations of classes and indications of online tools through blind assessment. In the same environment, students recorded their activities, and through them, were applied. In this study, you can see how Design Thinking acts in a flexible and innovative way, expanding the idea generation process in the project creation process in surface design.

Keywords: design thinking; surface design; distance education; instructional design; hybrid teaching.
