Resumo

O artesanato é definido como um conjunto de conhecimentos tradicionais, étnicos e técnicos, que por meio de habilidades manuais, transforma diferentes matérias-primas em produtos. Considerado um importante patrimônio da cultura material, é responsável pelas traduções das atitudes e modos de ser das comunidades. A partir deste raciocínio, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo geral investigar os aspectos iconográficos do artesanato brasileiro, a partir das interlocuções existentes entre o objeto e seu local de produção. E descrever, a partir de análises imagéticas, suas principais características visuais. Os métodos adotados foram a revisão bibliográfica para o embasamento teórico, e a observação sistemática para a análise visual. Conclui-se que a iconografia do artesanato brasileiro é tão heterogênea e miscigenada quanto o país. O material mais utilizado é o barro, suas cores ora são saturadas, ora são monocromáticas. Já as formas são dotadas de curvas e irregularidades.

Abstract

Craftsmanship is defined as a set of traditional, ethnic and technical knowledge, which through manual skills transforms different raw materials into products. Considered an important patrimony of the material culture, it’s responsible for the translations of the attitudes and ways of being of the communities. From this reasoning, this research has as general objective to investigate the iconographic aspects of the Brazilian craft, from the interlocutions existing between the object and its place of production. And describe, from imagery analysis, its main visual characteristics. The methods adopted were the bibliographic review for the theoretical basis, and the systematic observation for the visual analysis. It’s concluded that the iconography of Brazilian craftsmanship is as heterogeneous and mixed as the country. The most commonly used material is clay, its colors are now saturated, sometimes monochromatic. Already forms are endowed with curves and irregularities.
