Resumo

A proposta da presente pesquisa está na investigação da ilustração crítica no design ativista. Especificamente se propôs compreender de que modo a ilustração crítica tem sido usada pelo designer gráfico como uma ferramenta de luta e engajamento em diferentes causas sociais. Por meio da pesquisa exploratória foram identificados designers gráficos, grupos ativistas e artistas visuais que aplicaram a ilustração como uma linguagem visual capaz de comunicar mensagens reflexivas e que geram engajamento social. O resultado deste trabalho é fruto do projeto de pesquisa intitulado: ‘Imagem digital, ilustração crítica e engajamento social’, no qual a estudante bolsista de iniciação científica trabalhou com a temática dos refugiados. Para concluir a investigação foram produzidas duas ilustrações críticas alicerçadas em entrevista e pesquisa bibliográfica sobre o design ativista e os dilemas enfrentados pela comunidade de refugiados. Com o auxílio desses estudos prévios as ilustrações finais retratam visualmente as mazelas que os migrantes enfrentam no momento da fuga de seu país e os problemas que sofrem durante sua estadia nos campos de refugiados.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate critical illustration in activist design. Specifically, it was proposed to understand how critical illustration has been used by graphic designers as a tool of struggle and engagement for different social causes. Through exploratory research, graphic designers, activist groups and visual artists were identified who applied illustration as a visual language capable of communicating reflective messages that generate social engagement. The result of this work is the result of the research project entitled: ‘Subsequently insert the name of the research project’. For him, the scientific initiation scholarship student worked with the theme of refugees. To conclude the investigation, two critical illustrations were produced based on an interview and bibliographic research on activist design and the dilemmas faced by the refugee community. With the help of these previous studies, the final illustrations visually portrayed the ills that migrants face at the moment.
