Resumo

O número de intervenções gráficas urbanas socialmente orientadas aumentou consideravelmente no Brasil a partir do final da década de 1990. Esse artigo propõe identificar o papel da retórica dentro do escopo maior da linguagem gráfica encontradas em peças criadas por interventores ativistas sociais, atuantes no ambiente urbano. As intervenções selecionadas foram analisadas sob o ponto de vista da linguagem gráfica resultante do agenciamento entre os elementos gráficos-visuais, as técnicas utilizadas, os materiais usados, os suportes, com ênfase nos elementos da retórica conforme estudo de Bonsiepe (2001) e a nova retórica de Perelman e Tyteca-Olbrechts (2002), com contribuições de Citelli (2001) e Reboul (2000). Espera-se com este artigo compreender e refletir sobre a força da linguagem gráfica em intervenções socialmente orientadas.

Abstract

The number of urban graphic interventions increased considerably in Brazil as of the end of the 1990s. This article intends to identify the role of rhetoric within the larger scope of graphic language found in pieces created by stakeholders social activists, working in the urban environment. The selected interventions were analyzed from the point of view of the resulting graphic language resulting from relationship between visual-graphics elements, the techniques used, the material used, the media, emphasizing the rhetoric of elements according study of Bonsiepe (2001) and the new rhetoric of Perelman and Olbrechts-Tyteca (2002), with contributions from Citelli (2001) and Reboul (2000). It is hoped that this article understand and reflect on the strength of graphic language in socially oriented interventions.
