O LIVRO DIDÁTICO NO ENSINO DO DESENHO ARQUITETÔNICO / THE DIDACTIC BOOK IN THE TEACHING OF ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING

Abstract

This paper aims to evaluate the use, the contribution and the formats of the didactic books in the teaching of architectural drawing. The secondary objectives are to observe: the frequency on the use of material by the students; the contents of architectural drawings consulted; the perception in regard to the quality of the construction examples; and the preferences in regard to the acquisition of the e-book considering the traditional printed book, with the aim to support decisions towards future publications. For the research data collection, on-line questionnaires were sent for teachers and students from Architecture and Urbanism Course from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. From a sample of 81 respondents, it was possible to observe that besides frequently consulting references on internet, the printed material is still preferred by academics for both consulting and acquisition. A negative perception from respondents prevailed regarding the approach of drawing standards and rules in the books consulted, and in a smaller intensity, referring to the use of interesting architecture references on the examples that are illustrated.

Keywords: didactic book; architecture and urban planning; drawing.
