Resumo
O conhecimento da tecnologia e da representação gráfica envolvido no processo de produção da notícia na página permite ao designer a manipulação consciente e direta de elementos gráfico visuais no produto impresso. O objetivo desta reflexão é fomentar o design enquanto área de conhecimento e sua importância para o desenvolvimento e configuração do produto editorial. Uma investigação do processo gráfico e da influência estética que marcam o design de página na imprensa é importante para o entendimento da evolução do jornal no processo de comunicação contemporâneo. A observação e a análise dos jornais, suas condições operacionais e verbetes editoriais mais empregados no desenvolvimento do produto servirão como bases técnicas para o designer no processo de planejamento e produção gráfica da notícia.

Abstract
The knowledge of the technology and of the graphical representation involved in the production process of the news on the page allows to the designer the aware and direct manipulation of elements visual graphic in the printed product. The objective of this reflection is to foment the design while knowledge area and its importance to the development and configuration of the editorial product. A investigation of the graphic process and of the esthetical influences which determined the page design in the press media is important for the understanding of the newspaper evolution in the contemporaneous communication process. The observation and the analyses of the papers, its operational conditions and the most used editorial notes in the product development can be used as technical base for the designer in the process of the graphical planning and production of the news.
