Resumo
Este trabalho partiu do interesse de ampliar informação sobre o mobiliário pertencente ao acervo de uma instituição museológica. Este tipo de informação, no caso estudado, encontra-se organizada a partir de fichas catalográficas, utilizando-se de uma linguagem essencialmente textual. A partir de experimentos de representação gráfica digital, de obtenção dos modelos digitais e da possibilidade de decomposição virtual do mobiliário, promoveu-se um estudo detalhado da forma geométrica e de regras compositivas dos elementos que configuram tal mobiliário, promovendo comparações e conexões entre diferentes tipos de móveis. Os resultados permitem avançar no reconhecimento e explicitação das associações entre geometrias específicas e tendências estilísticas do mobiliário em questão, estabelecendo um processo de construção do conhecimento sobre este mobiliário, consequentemente ampliando a informação sobre o acervo do museu.

Abstract

The present work arises from the interest in broadening the information about furniture which belongs to the collection of a museological institution. This kind of information, in the studied case, is organized from catalographic filing cards, making use of a language which is essentially textual. From experiments on digital graphic representation, the acquisition of digital models and the possibility of virtual decomposition of the furniture, a detailed study of the geometrical shape and the composing rules of the elements were promoted, thus promoting comparisons and connections between different types of furniture. Associations between the specific geometries and the stylistic tendencies of the furniture in question, establishing a knowledge construction process about the subject, and, consequently broadening the information regarding the museum collection.
