A TEORIA DAS AFFORDANCES E A INTERFACE NA REPRESENTAÇÃO DA PERSONAGEM FICCIONAL / THE THEORY OF AFFORDANCES AND INTERFACE IN THE REPRESENTATION OF FICTIONAL CHARACTER

Resumo

Este trabalho se insere no grupo de investigações a respeito da ilustração de personagens ficcionais. O objetivo foi descobrir se a Teoria das Affordances de James J. Gibson e o conceito de Interface de Gui Bonsiepe influenciam na construção da representação visual das personagens fictícias. A pesquisa usou a literatura como base empírica. O livro “The Ecological Approach to Visual Perception” (GIBSON, 1986) forneceu os dados sobre affordances, enquanto que as informações sobre a interface foram coletadas da publicação “Design: do material ao digital” (BONSIEPE,  1997). A fonte de informações sobre a personagem ficcional foram artigos selecionados da terceira Conferência Internacional em Ilustração e Animação, CONFIA 2015. Os resultados mostraram que a personagem oferece possibilidades de satisfação de necessidades para o artista criador e para o público leitor. Ficou evidente a relação entre as variáveis, tanto na construção da interface de uma personagem, como também, na construção da própria ficção.

Abstract

This work belongs to the group of investigations illustration of fictional characters. The objective was to find out if the theory of James J. Gibson Affordances and the concept of Gui Bonsiepe interface influence the construction of the visual representation of fictional characters. The research used literature as empirical basis. The book “The Ecological Approach to Visual Perception” (GIBSON, 1986) provided data on affordances. Information on the interface were collected from the publication “Design: from the digital material” (Bonsiepe, 1997). The source of information about the fictional character were selected articles of the third International Conference in Illustration and Animation, RELY 2015. The results showed that the character has needs satisfaction of possibilities for the creative artist and the reading public. It was evident the relationship between the variables, both in the construction of a character interface, as well as in the construction of fiction.
