Resumo

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo o de contribuir com estudos que utilizem a teoria da Gestalt na avaliação de símbolos pictóricos. A teoria foi utilizada como suporte à avaliação dos resultados obtidos a partir de tarefas de leitura de mapas de uma pesquisa em nível de doutorado, e auxiliaram as discussões para validar as hipóteses do referente trabalho. Para tanto, cada um dos símbolos do mapa turístico da cidade de Curitiba foi analisado tendo como premissa básica a pregnância da forma da figura que compõe o símbolo. Os critérios para a análise foram: a simplicidade, a unidade visual e o equilíbrio. Conforme os resultados pôde-se comprovar que os símbolos com maior pregnância da forma exercem influência nos processos de detecção e de reconhecimento. Além disso, pôde-se constatar que a pregnância da forma depende da relação figura-fundo e da convexidade da figura. Ainda, a teoria foi útil no auxílio às discussões das demais análises realizadas na pesquisa.

Abstract

This study aimed to contribute to studies using Gestalt laws in the evaluation of pictorial symbols. The theory was used to support the assessment of the results obtained from map reading tasks from a research at the doctoral level, and discussions helped to validate the hypotheses of the study. Therefore, each of the tourist map of the symbols of the city of Curitiba was analyzed taking as the basic premise prägnanz fashion figure that makes up the symbol. The criteria for the analysis were: simplicity, visual unity and balance. As the results, it is shown that the symbols more prägnanz fashion influence in the detection and recognition processes. In addition, it could be seen that the pregnancy of the shape depends on the figure-ground relationship and the convexity of the figure. Still, the theory was useful as support to the discussions of other analyzes in the research.
